70 years ago on the shore of lake Baltezers the great confection king, founder and owner of chocolate factory «V. Ķuzes šokolādes fabrika» Vilhelms Kuze built up a villa for his family. In 1941, after he was deported, Rudolfs Veidemanis – the son-in-law of the confection king – took care of the villa. Veidemanis liked healthy lifestyle and and he had an experience in curortology.
In 1953 – after Vilhelm Kuze house has become nationalized – there established sanatorium for children. In the course of time the villa and its surrounding area has been expaneded, renovated and also new building have been made – now we can proudly call them the witnesses of the 20th century.
